The Black Hole Micro MLC 22L is a 22-litre Patagonia travel backpack, the smallest in the MLC series, designed for the space under the seat. Tuesday evening, a change of clothes, shoes included, on one side, the 15-inch laptop on the other; Wednesday, the meeting in Lyon, then the train home without going back to the hotel.

The Micro is designed for the space under the seat. In Europe, the free bags that go under the seat are 40 to 45 cm tall; it's 46. Soft-sided, it squashes down; stuffed to bursting, it bulges.

The main compartment takes a change of clothes, shoes included, behind a mesh divider that holds everything in when you open it. The other half, padded, keeps a 15-inch laptop, papers and cables; it opens flat for the security check.
