Ski touring · Mountaineering · Hiking
The big day on skins, the night in a hut, the summer alpine hike.
The name likely comes from Ullr, god of snow, the bow and skis. From the Edda.

In the field
Close with one hand, stow the poles, keep the ice axe.

Ull 30L
30 L · 798 g · hip belt pocket
Take it if the down jacket, lunch or a night in a hut come along: a pocket on the hip belt, and the ice axe within reach without taking the pack off.

Ull 20L
20 L · 718 g · side zip
Take it for a day on skins or a fast alpine route: the bare essentials, and a side zip to grab your things without opening everything.
See the Ull 20LSame 47 to 52 cm back, same fabric, same drawcord opening, same inner pocket for avalanche tools. The 30 L adds a hip belt pocket and an ice axe carry you can reach with the pack on; the 20 L keeps the side zip.

A back panel that comes out and doubles as a sleeping mat.
- Four-point sternum strap (4-S System®)One fixed side and one elastic side: the pressure spreads across your chest, the pack stays glued to your back.
- Rigid foam frame sheetIt keeps the load in shape, comes out to save weight, and can serve as a bivouac mat.
- Hip belt with pocketA safety buckle that does not open by accident, and a pocket for a bar or your sunglasses.

Eiken's take
- Our pick
- For 80 g more than the 20 L, it takes the down jacket, lunch or a sleeping mat, and keeps the ice axe within reach without taking the pack off.
- Worth knowing
- No side zip, unlike the 20 L: everything goes through the top opening, down jacket included.
- Who it's for
- Ski tourers on a long day or hut to hut, and alpine hikers in summer, with a 47 to 52 cm back.

Questions
What about rain?
Proper rain, yes: the fabric holds over 10,000 mm of water. The seams are not taped: in a storm, a rain cover still helps.
Does it carry skis?
Yes: the skis attach to the sides of the pack, the poles and the ice axe to the outer straps.
Shovel and probe?
An inner pocket is set aside for them, apart from the rest; it also takes small gear. It is not an airbag pack.
Which back length?
47 to 52 cm, regular cut. The frame sheet comes out; if in doubt, you have 30 days to try it at home, loaded.
Care
Hand wash with a mild soap. No bleach, no tumble dryer, no iron, no dry cleaning.
