From the office to ski touring, sorted by use, with their place on the plane.

City and office

For the working week, and Friday evening.

All three Huggers open fully, like a suitcase: the 20L for the day, the 25L for a 16-inch laptop and trainers, the 30L for a short trip. The Essential Rolltop for the bike commute in the rain.

25 L · 1.13 kg · overhead locker

The office bag that goes away for the weekend, with a pair of trainers on top.

30 L · 1.23 kg · overhead locker

For a short trip, or if you carry more than the essentials every day.

32 L · 1 kg · roll-top · 16-inch

The bike commute: waterproof materials and taped seams.

20 L · 1.03 kg · under the seat on easyJet

A day in town, and under the seat on easyJet. A 13-inch laptop, not a 16.

Photo and video

Camera kit, organised, in an everyday bag.

The Ramverk Pros come without an insert: the M insert fits the 26L and the 32L, the deeper L insert only the 32L. Take it out, and it's your weekday bag again.

26 L · 1.5 kg · M insert sold separately

With the M insert inside, it's a camera bag. Without it, your weekday bag.

32 L · 1.54 kg · L or M insert sold separately

For the L insert, or for several days away with your gear.

In the cabin

What goes on the plane, and what goes in the hold.

Db sorts its bags into three places. Our size limits are calculated from the bags' dimensions; each airline sets its own rules.

Under the seat

Personal item, free on most flights.

Overhead locker

The cabin bag, above the seats.

In the hold

Too big for the cabin.

Depending on the airline: they are meant for the cabin, but they are deeper than the 25 cm of the 55 × 35 × 25 cm limit. The Backcountry packs, the Snow Pro 25L and the Essential Rolltop are not designed for the cabin.

Travel bags

Two halves, clean on one side, dirty on the other.

The Split Duffels open down the middle into two compartments and carry on your back. The 30L fits in the cabin, the 50L depending on the airline, and the 70L and 90L go in the hold.

30 L · 1.4 kg · 48 × 30 × 25 cm

The only one of the four stated for the cabin: the office, the gym, a short flight.

50 L · 1.8 kg · 51 × 28 × 32 cm

The weekend, clean on one side, dirty on the other.

70 L · 2 kg · 59 × 38.5 × 33 cm

A week's travel, in the hold, and on your back as far as the train.

90 L · 2.4 kg · 64 × 43 × 35 cm

Two weeks' travel, or bulky gear. In the hold.

Ski and off-piste

From the lifts to ski touring, skis or board on your back.

The Backcountry 20L for a few runs from the lifts, the 25L when you climb on foot. The Snow Pros for touring: the 25L for day tours, the 32L for a full day or with your camera.

20 L · 1.05 kg · shovel and probe

A few runs from the lifts, then the working week in town with your laptop.

25 L · 1.35 kg · back-panel access

Skis or board strapped on, ice axe holder, for climbing on foot.

25 L · 1.4 kg · roll-top

Day ski touring: skis in an A-frame, avalanche kit in the front pocket.

32 L · 1.53 kg · roll-top · M insert

A full day out, or your camera with you in the mountains.

The brand, as Eiken sees it

Born in Oslo, between an engineer and a freeskier.

Db was born in Oslo in 2009, when a Norwegian engineer met a Swedish freeskier. You know its bags by their ribs: the Rib Cage, an ABS frame that keeps the bag in shape, even half empty. Designed in Scandinavia, made in Vietnam. Db has been B Corp certified since 2023.

Legal guarantee of conformity: 2 years. Out of guarantee, Db repairs in the European Union on quotation: €38 for a strap, €25 for a buckle.

Eiken's take

Why we chose it
Db designs its bags for travel: they open fully, hold their shape and tell you where they go on the plane. And the range hangs together: the same camera insert moves from one bag to the next.
Worth knowing
No hydrostatic head rating is published. Only the Essential Rolltop has taped seams; the others shed light rain, not a whole day outdoors.
Who it's for
People who travel with a single bag, and people who carry gear: camera, ski, sport.
